Geometallurgy has established itself as an essential strategic approach for the mineral industry, promoting an integrated vision between geosciences, mining engineering, and metallurgy. In this context, the II Geometallurgy Symposium will bring together specialists, researchers, companies, and institutions from the sector to discuss the advances, challenges, and applications of this discipline in process optimization and mining sustainability.

Short Course: Geometallurgical modeling using advanced geostatistics and machine learning with RMSP

The instruction will be in charge of Diogo Silva, a specialist in the GeologicAI.

This short course presents concepts and practices for predicting geometallurgical responses from predictor variables, discussing the main challenges of the domain, such as preferential sampling, non-additivity, multivariate complexity, missing data, and sample scarcity.

Throughout the course, integrated advanced geostatistics and machine learning workflows will be explored, including attribute engineering guided by deposit knowledge, supervised and unsupervised models, multivariate regressions, non-parametric models (Random Forest, GBM), and neural network fundamentals.

Data processing and imputation techniques, model evaluation and interpretation, clustering, transition probabilities and the practical application of these methods in block models and multivariate geometallurgical workflows will also be addressed.
